Website Questionnaire Results
Thank you to all the people who returned their questionnaire about the website. We had a great response and there were many positive suggestions. This page has been produced to let you know how we used the information that was gathered.
Parents' Forum
We have created a Parent Zone and have already added a page for the Parent Council. We hope to add one for the PSA and School board in the near future. Any parents wishing to offer their contributions can do so through the Guestbook at present. They will be welcomed!
We would like details of weekly homework to be completed.
This term the Nursery, P3 and P6 are piloting a weekly update for parents. These updates will be included on the individual class pages and will give information about what the children will be learning in the coming week, tips for helping with homework and will highlight any changes to the normal routines. If this is a success then we hope that all stages will do the same. We will be asking parents for their feedback on this soon.
Healthy Recipes for families. What's on - ie. social calendar in local area - clubs etc. What the school funds are buying. Topic information.
Healthy recipes - a great idea thanks. Perhaps Parents could send in some of their tried and tested recipes and we can display them. We will display any special events in the community on our noticeboard on the Home page.
Online payments for milk, lunches, events, functions etc.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer this type of facility at the moment.
Educational Games or Quizzes
There are many links to fun, educational websites in our 'Links' section. These will be changed or updated termly. We welcome any suggestions if you have found a particularly good site.
A list of Who's Who' of school staff.
There is a list of staff in the 'staff' section and class teachers are listed on the individual class pages.
Links to websites linked to class topics.
Any relevant links to websites will be added in the individual class pages.
Information on School Committees, Pupil Council, Eco Committee or Special events.
Each of the pupil groups have their own page in the Pupil Zone. Most of the committees have already started to add information. Special events will be showcased on the home page noticeboard or in the News section.
Class plans for the coming term.
The termly newsletters from each stage will be added as an attachment to the bottom of the class pages and this will give all the information about our plans for the term ahead.
Links to education website for school reports and tables etc.
This can be found in the Parent Zone on the School Information page and it links directly to the West Lothian website where you can read our HMI report and Improvement Plans etc.
Can 'Enquiry' be used to report absence?
Please phone the school to report an absence as we cannot guarantee that the enquiry forms will be checked before the safe arrival calls are made.
Information on homework help, school clubs, curriculum information, opportunity to email class teacher.
Homework help will be given in the weekly update on individual class pages. (Nursery, P3, P6 only at the moment). We have also linked to a 'Homework Help' page created by Woodlands Junior School in Kent, which was recommended to us. We have permission from the school and there are some fantastic activities for children to use.
We will be adding information very soon about after school clubs. This will be in the Pupil Zone.

If you would like to email your child's teacher you can fill in an enquiry form and it will be passed on to the relevant member of staff.
Useful info ie: Lunch menus, snack menu, reports of outbreaks, school closures, strikes etc.
Lunch menus are already available in the Parent zone for you to look at in advance with your child. We don't have a snack menu at present but we will try to add this as soon as possible in the Health Section of the Pupil zone. The items available at the Healthy Tuck shop change so it will not be a definitive list but will give you an idea of the sort of things available for your child to buy.
Can we have a list of term dates and school holidays?
Term dates for this session and for 2009/2010 are already on the website in the Parent Zone. We hope you find them useful.
Will you be able to offer parents a user account to allow us to see photos of our children? I know that you can't allow photos/video without permission.
We're not able to offer this facility at present. We will avoid publishing photos of individual children but we may, occasionally, use group photos if we have permission slips for each child involved.
Weekly House Points and House Captain of winning house each week.
The House Captains update the points every Friday. You can find the house information in the Pupil Zone.
Exam pass rates and percentages
We will add the attainment figures to the School Information page in Parent Zone as soon as possible.
Transition Page P7- S1. Links to Armadale and Bathgate Academy.
This information can be found in the School Handbook on the School Information Page in Parent Zone. There are already links to both High Schools on the Primary 7 class page.
Parking plans for Glasgow Road. Information on cycling, buses, walking to school etc.
Will pass on these requests to the Junior Road Safety Officers. They have a page in the Pupil Zone.
